Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. Use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms in their current form.

These terms apply to general use of the website. The terms governing a specific legal engagement — including scope, fees, and the conduct of proceedings — are set out separately in an engagement letter signed by both parties before work commences.

Service Description

Pravum provides criminal defence services in Malaysia, including consultations on criminal matters, representation in the Magistrate Court, and representation in the Sessions Court for more serious charges. The firm operates under the Legal Profession Act 1976 and is subject to the rules and ethics of the Malaysian Bar.

Services described on this website are available to individuals located in Malaysia. Access to the website from other jurisdictions is permitted, but the Firm does not accept instructions from persons outside Malaysia unless there is a clear nexus to Malaysian criminal proceedings.

User Responsibilities

When using this website, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when submitting an enquiry or engaging our services.
  • Not use the website in a way that disrupts its operation or undermines its security.
  • Not submit false or misleading information in connection with any matter.
  • Not use any content from this website for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
  • Comply with all applicable Malaysian laws in connection with your use of the website and any services provided.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, layout, typography, and structural elements — is the property of Pravum or its content providers and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

You are permitted to view and print pages from this website for personal, non-commercial reference. Reproduction, distribution, or modification of any content without the Firm's prior written consent is not permitted.

Fees & Payment

The fees listed on this website are indicative engagement fees for the services described. The specific fee applicable to your matter will be confirmed in the engagement letter before any work commences.

Service Fee
First-Hour Criminal Matter Consultation RM 700
Magistrate Court Representation Engagement RM 1,800
Comprehensive Defence & Sessions Court Representation RM 2,200

All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payment terms, accepted methods, and disbursement arrangements are set out in the engagement letter.

Engagement Terms

A formal engagement with Pravum commences only upon execution of a signed engagement letter. No solicitor-client relationship is formed by the mere submission of an enquiry form or an initial consultation.

The engagement letter will specify the scope of work, the fee structure, points at which the matter may be re-evaluated, and the professional obligations of both parties. Any changes to the scope of work will be agreed in writing.

Confidentiality obligations consistent with the rules of the Malaysian Bar apply from the point at which a client shares information in connection with a potential engagement, whether or not a formal retainer is subsequently entered into.

Disclaimers

The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for specific legal advice relevant to your situation.

No representation is made that the outcome of any legal matter will be favourable. The conduct and outcome of criminal proceedings depends on many factors, including the evidence, the applicable law, and the decisions of the court.

The website is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we reserve the right to update or withdraw content at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Pravum's liability arising from or connected to use of this website is limited to cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Pravum is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from your use of this website or from reliance on its content.

Liability arising in connection with legal services provided under an engagement letter is governed by the terms of that letter and applicable professional liability standards.

Termination

Either party may terminate a formal engagement by providing reasonable written notice, subject to the terms of the engagement letter and any court obligations that may require a smooth transition of representation.

Pravum reserves the right to decline or discontinue an engagement in circumstances permitted by the rules of the Malaysian Bar, including where a conflict of interest arises or where professional conduct obligations cannot be met.

Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from the use of this website or the provision of services is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Before commencing formal proceedings, parties agree to attempt resolution through direct communication in good faith. Complaints relating to professional conduct may also be referred to the Malaysian Bar.
